Research Overview

The objective of this research is to establish methods for identifying the key dynamics in complex phenomena through statistical inference, based on the operator expressions of the underlying nonlinear dynamical systems. These methods together with mathematical models constitute a framework that we will use for knowledge discovery, learning, and prediction. The methods and theories thus obtained are applied to data analysis across multiple fields, and their usefulness is thus demonstrated. Researchers in machine learning, mathematics, nonlinear physics, and theoretical biology have participated in and contributed to this study.
